Community Histories Project
& Digital Archive
The Community History Project Digital Archive is a public, searchable archive of digital materials related to African American history in East Tennessee, Southeastern Kentucky, Western North Carolina & Southern West Virginia. The items in the archive are sourced from a mix of local institutions and community members who have generously lent digital copies of their resources.
The lenders include the Reunion of the Ages, Greene County Schools, Elizabethton & Carter County Department of Education, Middlesboro Independent Schools, Bristol Virginia Department of Education, area churches and dozens of community members.

Working in partnership with the University of Tennessee's School of Information Sciences, this archive will continue to grow and expand in coming years, with more opportunities for community members to contribute materials well into the future.
